Will Henry Tankson

Will Henry Tankson was born to Mary Etta Tankson and Will Henry Gardner on August 30, 1943. Will “Sonny” was born in Clarksdale, MS.

Sonny attended Myrtle Hall Elementary and Higgins High School in Clarksdale. Sonny came to Chicago in 1959 and graduated from Cregier High School.

He united in marriage with his lifetime love Allene Brown (Tankson) on September 10, 1966. He was a dedicated and loyal employee of Freeman Co. for over 36 years.

His mother and father, Mary Etta and Will Henry preceded him in death, along with nine brothers and sisters.

Sonny leaves to remember him: His wife, Allene; three daughters, LaShawn, Karmeki and Latojia: one son, Dwayne; six grandchildren; five sisters and one brother, Gennie whose spouse June preceded her in death, Sander, Vernice and her husband Eddie, Vivian and her husband James; and a host of nieces and nephews.
