Ronnie Earl Brewers

April 17, 1958 — March 5, 2026

We come together to celebrate the life and legacy of Ronnie Earl Bowers, a loving father, husband, and son who was lovingly known as Ron and Big Dooky. Ronnie Earl Bowers was born on April 17, 1958, in Helena, Arkansas. He was born to Annie Lee Washington and Stylon Bowers. Both parents preceded him in death.

Ron later made his home in Chicago, where he attended Lewis Chaplin Elementary School, and Inglewood High School where he earned his diploma in 1977. He loved sports and played for the Varsity basketball team. Ron attended Harold Washington Junior College, where he received a football scholarship. He continued his education at Oklahoma State, where he played football, demonstrating discipline and determination early in life. He attended Atioch Baptist Church.

Ron went on to earn his cosmetology license from ET Beauty School, beginning his journey toward entrepreneurship. He spent many years working as a hairstylist, building something of his own. He took pride in his work, and it allowed him to connect with people and express himself in a meaningful way.

Later in life, Ron transitioned into other work and became a security guard at Westinghouse High School. It was there that he met his wife, Dolores, adding another chapter of love and companionship to his life.

Ron was an achiever and a hard worker. Providing for his household came naturally to him, it was simply who he was. He carried a strong sense of responsibility and remained committed to taking care of his family.

He leaves to cherish his memory: His six children, Brandon, Shena, Starsha, Rome, Trinity, and Chasity; his loving wife, Delores; two loving daughters through marriage, Jessica and ShayQuan; six grandchildren, Brandon Jr., Jaden, Zoe, Bryan, Lonika, and Kennedy; his baby brother, Michael; and a host of family and friends who loved him. Though he is no longer with us, his presence will always be felt in the lives he touched.

We take comfort in knowing that Ronnie now rests in heaven, reunited with his mother and father, in peace and in God’s care.
