Robert William Smith was born May 6, 1955 to Sarah Jean Conley and Charles William Smith, in Blytheville Arkansas. He was the sixth of nine children. Robert moved to Chicago with his mother in 1967, at the age of 12.
As a young boy, Robert attended Mason elementary. Shortly after, he met and fell in love with Marguerite, a beautiful tomboy that later in life would become his wife. After graduating from Mason, Robert went on to Harrison High School.
Now an adult and new father, Robert began working a range of different jobs to provide for his family. Eventually he got his dream job working as aBus Operator for CTA. Because of his hard work, Robert purchased his first and only house. After dedicating 28 years of service, Robert retired.
Though Robert could be a bit much at times, he cherished having good times with his family and close friends. Along with his passion for sports and trips to the casino, he loved some old school music; especially some Al Green, Michael Jackson and the Spinners.
With the help of his family by his side, Robert was called to be with the Lord on August 4, 2025 at 4:36 a.m.
