Parlee Johnson was born on October 18, 1950 to Ms. Minnie Adolph in Sunflower, Mississippi. She was the second youngest child born to her mother, Minnie Adolph. Parlee was baptized in the Baptist church while in Mississippi.
Parlee moved from her hometown along with her family to the North Lawndale area on the westside of Chicago, where she pursued her love for family. Parlee attended Herzel Elementary School and Farragut High School. She also completed a Medical Assistant Program. Parlee then went on to work for Red Roof Inn for many decades, until she retired.
Parlee departed her life on Thursday, March 27, 2025.
She is preceded in death by: Her mother, Minnie Adolph; her father, Willie Johnson Sr.; her grandparents, Ulysses Johnson and Parlee Johnson; her brothers, Tommie Adolph and Willie Johnson Jr.; her sisters, Ruby Lee Adolph, Dorothy Johnson and Imojean Baker (Charlie Baker); her nieces, Delores Rainge, Minnie Pearl Lott; her nephew, Coby Terrell Adolph; and her great-nephew, Stanley Wheat Jr.
She leaves to cherish: Her brother, Audry Adolph; her nieces, Lillie Wheat, Valerie Adolph, Tiffany Adolph, Makisha Adolph and Sylvia Billings; her nephews, Stevie Adolph, Corey Baker, Carleton Baker, and Tommie Adolph Jr.; one sister-in-law, Mary Adolph; one uncle, Arthur Johnson (Annie Mae Johnson); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
