Mrs. Kathryn Jones-Myles

Born on November 15, 1956, Kathryn was the youngest daughter of Jimmie Lee Jones (1889–1959) and Elsie Fry Jones (1891–1936). The family moved frequently throughout Chicago’s West Side, where Kathryn met her childhood sweetheart, Lee Myles. They married in July 1974 and together welcomed two children, Tasha and later, Patrick.

Throughout her life, Kathryn faced mental health challenges, but in recent years had found meaningful and positive ways to cope. She embraced life with a vibrant spirit. She loved blues music, dancing, old movies, and never missed an episode of Svengoolie. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family, whenever and however she could.

Kathryn gave her life to the Lord, and on June 17, 2025, she was peacefully called to her eternal home. There, she reunited with her beloved parents, Jimmie and Elsie, and her siblings: Willie Mae, Ruby, Betty, Christine, Linda, L.C., James, Eddie, Jimmie, and Wendell.

She leaves to celebrate her life and carry her memory: Her daughter, Tasha Myles-Cash (Paul); her son, Patrick Myles; her cherished grandchildren, Malcolm Wallace and Jacqueline Cash; her sister, Lilly Harris and brother, Leroy Kimber; her former husband, Lee Myles; sisters-in-law, Gloria Patterson (Maurice) and Dolores Myles; brother-in-law, Waverly Myles; a bonus daughter, Shana Boyce; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and neighbors.

Kathryn was a loving mother, a joyful spirit, and a resilient soul who will be deeply missed by all.
