Jake McAllister

April 8, 1950 — January 6, 2026

Jake McAllister, lovingly known to his family as “Bay Bruh,” was born on April 8, 1950, to the late Daisy Gee and Jake McAllister Sr. He entered eternal rest on January 6, 2026, at the age of 75. His life was a testament to his faith, strength, and love for family.

Jake was educated in the Chicago Public School System. In his later years, he was a quiet presence, but when he spoke, his words were thoughtful and carried weight. He valued independence and took pride in building a life on his own terms. Jake will be remembered for his steady spirit, his quiet strength, and the meaningful impact he had on those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Jake was a member of Greater Bethlehem Healing Temple.

Jake was the third oldest of eleven children. He shared a special bond with his mother, Daisy Gee, whose love, and guidance shaped his life; their affection for one another was deep and enduring.

Jake was married to the late Mary Simmons, to this union, two children were born, Jake McAllister III and Sharon McAllister. Jake was preceded in death by his wife, his parents; his sisters, Celeste Crawford and FloyDean Harris; and his brothers, Michael McAllister and Richard McAllister.

He leaves to cherish his memory his two beloved children, Jake III and Sharon McAllister, along with his six devoted sisters: Mary Macon, Mattie Stennis (Chester Stennis), Lorraine Fisher, Elizabeth Slaughter, Renell McAllister, and Joyce Ann McAllister (Jerry Lewis) & brother-in law Herbert Harris. He is also remembered fondly by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Jake McAllister’s earthly journey has ended, but his spirit lives on through his family and the many lives he touched. He will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
