I was born November 9, 1943 to the late Eddie & Lucille Jones in Greenville, MS. I am the fourth born of eight children. My siblings, Francis Woods, John Jones, Leola McDowell, JoAnne Rhodes and Rhonda Minor all preceded me in death.
I confessed Christ at an early age in Hollandale, Mississippi. I graduated from Simmons High School in Hollandale, MS and relocated to Chicago, IL soon after. This is where I met, joined in union and started a family with Sam, who also preceded me in death.
I attended computer tech school and started my career in administration. My career choice started at Mt. Sinai Hospital as a hospital administrator. I moved on to Sears Robuck & Co. where I remained for over 20 years, until they relocated the westside offices to the south suburbs. Loretta Hospital would be my final employer, where I worked as an admitting clerk until I retired.
I leave my loving family to cherish my memories: My beautiful children - one son, Gerald of Marrietta, GA and three daughters, Sharron, Tracey and Tawanda (Morrell), all of Chicago, IL; my grandchildren, Teri, Charrand (Martese), Cory, Cha’Cora and Steve Jr.; my twin brothers, MC Jones & OC Jones; my cousin/sister, Margaret Faye Snyder (Jesse); my special son and right-hand man, Steve Carr Sr.; and my closest and dearest best friend, Lois Evans (Charles). I also leave behind eight great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins
