Gertrude Dubose Warren was born on June 13, 1948, to the union of Clarence and Lucille Dubose. Their loving union was blessed with four beautiful daughters: Veronica Dubose Luther, Mary Dubose Pitts, Gertrude Dubose Warren, and Lucille (Lu) Dubose Suggs. Her mother, father and two sisters, Veronica and Mary, all preceded her in death.
Gertrude, affectionately known as “Trudy”, received her early education at St. Joseph and John M. Smyth Elementary Schools and was a proud graduate of Lucy Flowers High School. Shortly after graduation, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Ronald Lee Warren, Sr. From this union, one son was born, Ronald Lee Warren, Jr.
Trudy dedicated over 30 years of faithful service to the Illinois Department of Human Services, from which she retired. She was known for her strong work ethic, kind heart, beautiful smile, and unwavering love for her family.
Trudy leaves to cherish her memory: Her beloved son, Ronald (Sharon) Lee Warren, Jr.; three grandchildren, Cordelro Warren, Shamara Warren and Taniece Warren; seven great-grandchildren, Ja’Mari Jenkins, Taniyah Warren, Ja’Mir Brooks, Trinity Berry, Jaxon Warren, Kael Warren and Shaday Warren; one sister, Lucille Suggs; three nieces, Makeba Dubose, Michelle (Michael) Onochie, and Natalie (Jermaine) McMahon; one nephew, Larry (Vir) Jackson; and a host of other relatives and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. She also had a nephew, Andre Jemison who preceded her in death.
