Christopher C. Fowler was born on June 2, 1960, in the great city of Chicago, Illinois, the third of five children lovingly brought into the world by his devoted parents, Joseph and Gloria Fowler. From his earliest days, Christopher was surrounded by family, faith, and a community that would shape the extraordinary man he became. He is preceded in death by: His beloved parents, Joseph and Gloria Fowler; his brother, Joseph Fowler Jr.; and his grandson, Eric “China Man” Fowler, each of whom undoubtedly welcomed him home with open arms.
Christopher received his education at John Marshall High School, where the seeds of his character, determination, and work ethic were sown. At an early age, he answered the call of the Lord and gave his life to Christ at Central Memorial Baptist Church - a decision that anchored him throughout his life’s journey. His faith was not simply a Sunday tradition; it was the quiet foundation upon which he built everything he held dear.
Throughout his life, Christopher demonstrated an unwavering dedication to providing for his family. He was a hard-working man of remarkable versatility, holding a range of positions across his career with diligence and pride. He believed that a man’s worth was measured not by titles, but by the sweat of honest labor and the stability he created for those he loved. In this, Christopher excelled beyond measure.
To know Christopher Fowler was to love him. He possessed a rare and radiant energy - outgoing, magnetic, and endlessly warm. He was a family man in the truest sense, someone who found his greatest joy not in possessions or prestige, but in the laughter and presence of the people around him. Christopher had an irresistible sense of humor and a gift for light-hearted banter; those who spent time with him know that a conversation with Christopher was never short of entertainment.
Music was the language of his soul. Christopher held a deep and passionate love for the timeless sounds of Frankie Beverly and Maze, and could often be found moving to the soulful rhythms of the blues. But when stepper music filled the room, there was no keeping Christopher off the dance floor. In quieter moments, he loved watching his favorite television programs, The Price is Right and Let’s Make a Deal.
On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, God gently called His faithful servant home. Christopher departed this life surrounded by the love he had so generously given throughout his years.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory: His nine daughters, Imani, Christine, Christi, (Yohance), Savanna, Latice, Christina, Crystal (Gregory), Alisha, Shanta, and Dominique; one son, Christopher Jr. (Melissa); two sisters, Kimberly and Wanda; and one brother, Dominique. He was further blessed with 39 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren - a legacy of life and love that will echo through generations. A host of extended family members, cherished friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross his path will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
