Mr. Charlie Mack Burks

A beautiful life has come to an end on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Charlie M. Burks Sr. was called home from labor to reward. Charlie M. Burks was born on January 5, 1952 in McDonough, Georgia to the late Selma Lue Burks. Charlie was the 12th child of 15 children. He was raised on the Westside of Chicago, Illinois. In his early years he was a member of the Corinthian Temple COGIC, under the leadership of the late Bishop Bennie Allison. 

Charlie received his education in the Chicago Public School System. After graduating, Charlie served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and returned to Chicago in 1973. Upon his return, Charlie was employed as a Pressman at the Rockford Paper Mill in Rosemont, Illinois.

On July 28, 1973, Charlie was united in Holy Matrimony to Sheila Marie Calhoun and from this union God blessed them with three children: two sons and one daughter. Charlie accepted Christ at an early age and was filled with the Holy Ghost in July 2021.

He leaves to mourn: His devoted wife, Sheila Burks; sons, Jazz Jaboa Burks Sr. (Melissa) and Charlie Mack Burks Jr.; his daughter, Gail Crystal Burks; his loving grandson Jazz Jaboa Burks Jr. (better known as T-Money); his remaining siblings and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
