Aaliyah Presswood

March 26, 1995 — May 18, 2026

With deep love, gratitude, and treasured memories, we celebrate the beautiful life of Aaliyah Jonell Presswood, who peacefully transitioned at the age of 32. A proud resident of Chicago, Illinois, Aaliyah was born to Thomas Presswood and Tina Littleton.

She attended and graduated from Phoenix Military Academy in 2012 and later attended Malcom X College in pursuit of general studies for her associate’s degree. She faithfully served the Chicago Public School system for 9 years, where her compassion and dedication shined - especially in her love of caring for children with special needs. Aaliyah was never married, but she shared a special bond with her honorary daughter, Kennedy, whose life was touched by her love.

Aaliyah brought joy wherever she went. She loved to read, sing, watch Chinese dramas, cook, and enjoy life as a true foodie. Her vibrant personality and unforgettable expressions “I’m with you when you’re right,” “Fix your face,” “Girrl,” and “Quit playing in my face” - will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, bringing smiles even through tears.

In 2020, Aaliyah accepted Christ into her life and walked faithfully as a worshipper, servant, and leader. She was a devoted member of RE//FORM Place CHI, and faithful member of the intercessory prayer team S.H.I.E.L.D. Her faith became a source of strength, peace, and purpose, and she was deeply loved by her family and community. In moments of worship, she often leaned on the powerful words of her praise song, “Lion” by Elevation Worship, featuring Chris Brown and Brandon Lake: “Prepare the way, prepare the way of the Lord.” Those words refl ected the strength of her spirit and the depth of her devotion.

Preceding her into eternal life were: Her grandfathers, Paul Moore and Thomas Littleton; her grandmother, Arthea Presswood; her brothers, Simeon and Thomas Presswood Jr.; her uncle, Fredrick Littleton; and her aunts, Gail Littleton and Jacquline Presswood; her honorary auntie, Luemetria McCaskill, also known as Top; and her godmother, Joann Orr. Though they welcomed her into glory, her memory continues to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: Thomas Presswood and Tina Littleton, her loving parents; Louise Littleton, her beloved grandmother; Dantrell Carter, Kwand, and Beyonce Presswood, her siblings; Roosevelt Presswood, her uncle; Latrice Maxey and Octavia Roberts (Bruce), her aunts; Anthoy Johnson, her God-brother; along with a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends. Her love, light, and legacy will continue to live on through each life she touched.
